This week Mr.Haag came in and talked to us. Though it was supposed to be on administration and stuff, he kinda just talked about himself. I learned a lot more about the history of Haag then I did of what we were supposed to be learning. He's a really good speaker though and didn't repeat words while he was talking.
We talked about all the different forms that they have to keep track of. I didn't think Mr.Haag really had to deal with paperwork but he does, and it looks like A LOT of reading.
Though I won't be coming back next year, I do appreciate what Mr.Haag has done with the school. He's not the type of principal that kids are scared of.
Now we have to do the project where we have to build our own school. Mrs.Cantrell doesn't like how we are trying to make it like Hogwarts. OH, AND WE ARE ADDING A LOBSTER LOBBY.

This Week...
This week Mr.Maraedy came into our class to speak. He basically just talked about the history behind charter schools, and why he chose to make McKeel a charter school. The information was useful because I never really realized how much different a charter school was from a public school. He repeated the phrase "...and things like that" a lot, which kind of annoyed me, but overall the presentation was okay.
I know McKeel is supposed to be like the "top school", but really I know friends in public schools that are learning more than I am. They do have better technology, seeing as though Lakeland uses Mac's in their technology lab while we have to use old Dell's that don't work half the time. I think if we represent ourselves as a technology school, we have to be up to date on the stuff.
I won't be back at McKeel next year, so I guess I'll really see how different the two schools are from each other.

This Week...
So this week Dr.Acocelli came in and talked to us. I personally love her, as a teacher and as an administrator. She is just so amazing at whatever she does and she talks to us like we're not two years old. Students respect her but she also respects us.
Anyways, she came in to the class to talk to us about Certifications of teachers. I never really realized how many tests teachers had to pass to be considered qualified to do their job. And the tests seem really expensive. Dr.A was explaining how some of the tests can be as expensive as 200 dollars. That's a lot of money for just one test!!
The words we had to look up before she came in were kind of confusing. The acronyms sometimes didn't make sense or I would find things that weren't correct.
So next time, I think they should give us the full name and we should define it.
This project is going to be reallllllllly long.

Blind Side & Presentations
This week in class we did our presentations on blogster, wiki, prezi and glogster. My partner was Shelby Anderson. Together, we did four teachers. This was kind of a hard subject to teach since I wasn't really aware of how to use many of the sites myself. So, I had to go on the websites beforehand and figure it out.
Prezi seemed to be the hardest one to use. I still don't know how to use it. UGH! So Confusing.
We also watched the movie "The Blind Side" in class. I watched this movie over and over in theatres. I think it has a really good message to it and I loved Sandra Bullock's role. I've always wanted to adopt a child who was in a bad family and bring them up the right way.
I think it tells a good story about how people can go from nothing to a lot. Michael got a little help from a family and made it all the way to the top. It's a great inspirational movie.

This Week...
This week blogspot was blocked at school. Therefore, all my posts will now have to be done at school.
The grading period is coming to an end, and I still have a lot of work to make up. Algebra 2 was one of my easiest subjects but I've been slacking this nine weeks and I have a B in that class. I know a B isn't really that bad of a grade, but it's not an honors class so I know my parents will be expecting more out of me. If I turn my last few assignments in, I'm sure I can pull it up pretty quickly. I just need to get all of my work done and turned in.
Also, we have a lot of tests coming up. I need to study more so I don't drop any of my grades at the last second.
PSC collegiate high school letters come out this week. I want to get in so bad! I passed all three sections of my CPT so I'm pretty sure I'll get in at some point.
Anyways, that's about my week so far!

This Week...
This week we worked on our ESE terms and looked up the meaning online. We also had to find a podcast online about something related to disabilities and a court case related to ESE. Although I want to work with ESE kids in the future, some of the stuff we had to look up was boring. I didn't understand some of the terms, but it was kind of hard figuring them out since all we were given was acronyms.
I'm trying to bring my grades up in other classes because they've been going down due to me just not caring. I need to get back on track, so right now I have all A's and B's and hoping I can bring them back up to all A's again.
We had a lock-in yesterday too. It was pretty scary since we had to lock all of the doors because somebody "suspicious" was on campus.

This Week...
This week interims are coming out. It kind of makes me nervous since my grades are falling behind in some of my classes. It's not really my fault, it's just I have z's for some of the assignments that I need to make up.
I'm really beginning to struggle in history. I learned that if I'm ever absent in that class, I bet just catch up really quickly because it's so easy to fall behind in that subject.
Tomorrow (Friday), I'm doing my lesson plan for Mr.Kawaihae's 5th period class. I'm kind of nervous since I've never taught in front of a high school class before and I don't know how well the ice breaker is going to go.
Education is starting to aggravating with all of these stupid PROJECTS.
